The World We Make
This simulation invites players to imagine and explore a variety of leadership roles from local community ecology or economics, to past historical empires, to future global challenges.
Because of the students’ role in designing problems
from the present day,
exploring historical struggles from new perspectives, or
speculating imagined future dilemmas,
we call this experience “The World We Make.”
The goals of The World We Make are threefold:
to awaken an attitude of curiosity and exploration of content knowledge sparked by the novelty of simulating past, present, or future decision making;
to foster the creation, implementation and practice of critical and creative thinking in collaborative problem-solving; and
to provide a potential source of practical solutions to actual problems in the world, in turn motivating young citizen leaders to organize presentations to share with real-world agencies where solutions derived from their play might be considered and applied.
